Allan Guthrie
Allan Guthrie was born on Orkney and grew up in Kirkwall before leaving home at fourteen to attend music school in Manchester as a founding member of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.

After a spell in IT and several years working in the book trade across the UK and Europe, he turned to writing full-time.
His breakthrough novel Two-Way Split was shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger and went on to win the Theakstons Crime Novel of the Year in 2007. His second novel, Kiss Her Goodbye, was nominated for an Edgar Award, an Anthony Award and a Mystery Ink Gumshoe Award.
Guthrie has since published several novels and novellas, including Slammer and the bestselling police thriller Bye Bye Baby, establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in modern British crime fiction.
